Over the years we have always held true to the mantra "The show must go on", and I must say that our team has rallied around any and all challenging situations that they have faced.
However, there are times where we need to limit service or stop service altogether. Here are some reasons that we've had to "stop the show" before.
- Extreme Heat and/or Prolonged Heat Alerts issued by Environment Canada.
- During heat alerts and/or extreme heat, working in the kitchen can be a life or death safety risk, one that the Popp family takes seriously. We haven't had to completely shut down as of yet, however, in 2014, 2015 and 2016 we have chosen to limit what we serve to guests to provide a safe working environment for our chefs and cooks.
- Death or Tragedy within our Memphis Family.
- Memphis Fire Barbeque Company has a unique culture corporately. As busy as we are, and as demanding as the jobs here are, we're all one big family. Sure there are disagreements, squabbles, and tension, but only in the familial sense. We're a big family, we laugh together, share together and when needed, we grieve together too. What makes Memphis Fire Barbeque Company a great family restaurant, is that sense of family that comes from an honest source. From time to time, when events are so tragic that they affect the entire team, the Popp family will close the restaurant so that we all can be together, as the big family we are.
Memphis Fire Barbeque Company is proud to support our local community by donating Gift Cards to registered charities only.
